What is the FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams)?
FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams) is one of the first international cooperation networks created in order to answer cyber incidents. The organisation unites computer and product security incident response teams globally. CERT-FR joined this network in September 2000.
Role and mission
The organisation pursues several key objectives:
- Encourage cooperation among teams for prevention, detection, and restoration following IT security incidents
- Supply shared communication platforms for vulnerability documentation and alert distribution
- Support member development through research and operational activities
- Promote information exchange regarding tools, methods, and techniques
FIRST hosts an annual international "Computer Security Incident Handling Conference" emphasizing incident response and experience sharing.
